Meet Dasia, Dena & Dawn. They are the original Big Beautiful Dolls invented in 1999 by Audrey Bell-Kearney and her friend Georgette Taylor. Audrey had the idea for the dolls while working a full time job at Verizon. She told her friend Georgette about the idea and Big Beautiful Dolls were born. Audrey ran the company until 2005 and after that she decided to move on to her next venture. She thought about bringing the dolls back for their 21st birthday but because of all of the things happening with the United States and China tariffs, the price point was too high and she wasn't sure what the shipping would be like. One night while browsing online looking for a company that could make a collectible plate for her as a tribute to Madam CJ Walker she came across a company that made rugs and that's when the idea for the Rug Chest was born. The Netflix original series produced by Lebron James was coming out and Audrey thought it would be nice to have a doll come out at the same time, but that didn't happen. Instead the rugs are here and the legacy of the Big Beautiful Dolls live on.
